Stranger Things debuted in the July of 2016 and remained one of the biggest Netflix Original ever since. Stranger Things Season 4 is what fans are looking forward to, as the third season of the sci-fi mega-hit recently released and it was a roller coaster of emotions for the audience. So, the question is, will there be a season 4? If yes, when can we expect it?
Stranger Things is a sci-fi horror American series created by The Duffer Brothers. The show is set in the era of ’80s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. The story revolves around a bunch of clairvoyant teenagers and their supernatural friend Eleven. With Dungeons & Dragons folklore, and all kinds of sci-fi adventures that get more and more intense with every season.
What Will Happen In The Upcoming Season?
Season three wrapped up on an extremely emotional note, with the death of Billy and Hoppers and the Byers leaving Hawkins along with Eleven. We don’t know where they are moving, but with season four on the cards, they’ll surely be back. The gang always finds a way to reunite and save the day.
The Duffer Brothers in an interview with Entertainment Weekly revealed that season 4 is “going to open up a little bit.” It could mean many things, more special effects or maybe open up in terms of allowing storylines outside of Hawkins.
I think it’s obvious to say that more trips to Russia are on the cards.
Ross Duffer added: “We don’t want to write ourselves in the corner, so we try to have these early discussions with the writers just to make sure we are setting ourselves up to go in the right direction.”
Another primary focus of the fourth installment might be Eleven losing her powers. In the third season, Eleven was unable to even lift her teddy bear off the top shelf of the wardrobe. Stranger Things Season 4 might focus on Eleven trying to regain her psychokinetic abilities. On second thoughts, maybe we don’t want Eleven’s powers back so that she can finally enjoy being a typical teenager.
However, at the end of season three, we saw Eleven getting infected by that monster bite on her leg. It could mean The Mind Flayer can control her just like it did with Billy and Will.
Stranger Things Season 4: Who Is “The American”?
Stranger Things season 3 ended with a major cliff hanger. The post-credit scene revealed that the Russians had captured a faceless figure who they referred to as “The American.”
Jim Hopper and Billy Hargrove both were presumed dead at the end of season three. Meaning, “The American” could be either of them.
Fans are suggesting its more likely to be Billy, as in the third season he encountered a clone of himself in the world of upside down. He might have escaped through some opening or a gate.
Meanwhile, some Reddit users are suggesting that it is actually Dr.Brenner AKA Papa from season one. He was confirmed alive in season two, and it is possible that the Russians are using him for his science.
Stranger Things Season 4: Release Date
While Stranger Things Season 4 is a certainty, we’re predicting quite a wait for this one too. However, if the productions begin later this year itself, we can expect a late 2020 release.
Duffer Brothers usually targets public holidays for the release, so our bet is on October 2020.
