The fans were stunned after watching Red’d kidnapping. Though the sixth season of The Blacklist ended there, the audience knew that there’s more to it. NBC had already renewed the series for its next installment, The Blacklist Season 7 back in March 2019. However, the question arises that when will the series come back to tackle all the mystery? Debuted back in 2013, the series opened up for many upcoming mysteries that ran for years. The Blacklist introduced the fan-favorite character Raymond Reddington, also known as Red. He was previously a US Naval Intelligence officer turned to became an infamous criminal after he disappeared 20 years ago. Red surrenders to the FBI seeking for the immunity, in exchange for providing the intel about the world’s most dangerous criminals and terrorists.
James Spader has been widely loved and appreciated for his performance as Red. Critics and audiences have seen much potential in the series, delivered in its six-year-long run.
Creator Teased About The Sequel
The shows creator, Jon Bokenkamp, also discussed the upcoming season. According to him, the audience will be thrilled to see Red in a hell lot of jeopardy in the next season.
Not just this, he also stated that there would be more friction ahead regarding Red’s true identity. Liz is pretty close to that, but also not having the entire grip of the truth of Red’s identity. He also met someone by the end of the sixth season. Some say he’s the real Ilya, and for some, he is Red’s brother. Who was that mysterious “He.” This might reveal in the seventh season.
The Blacklist Season 7: Will Likely Explore Unfinished Business
The previous season of the show left at a major cliffhanger. Red was Katarina’s captive by the end of the finale. Nobody knows why she did that, and also where did she took Red to? So, what is the fate of Red is still unclear.
The seventh season will likely sum up all the loose ends of the previous season. The mystery surrounding Red’s real identity and his family will probably flash in the upcoming installment.
Also, Diane Fowler tried to unravel the Reddington family’s secret in front of Red. However, he ignored what she was about to say and killed her. Is that secret related to Red’s identity, or is something more? That revelation that Diana held is still a big mystery. Therefore, it could supposedly come up in the seventh season.
