NBC’s one of the most successful show has been renewed for The Good Place Season 4. The renewal news for the show came in even before the finale of the third season. Therefore, it made its vast fan base thinking about the possibilities for the upcoming season.
The Good Place has received enormous success rate, since its beginning and stands as NBC’s highest-rated comedy series. The show follows the journey of Eleanor Shellstrop, who was introduced to The Good Place by Michael in her afterlife. The Good Place is heaven like Utopia that he designed as a reward for her good life. However, things unravel by the time that she was sent there by mistake and must hide her immoral behavior and become a better person.
The series debuted in September 2016, and since then, became a star show for NBC. It is famous for its major plot-altering twists. The Good Place has also been nominated and awarded with many awards, including recent Peabody Awards.

Unfortunately, true! The Good Place Season 4 will be the final installment of the series, as confirmed by the show creator Michael Shur. He also explained his big decision through his tweet. According to him, the decision was a creative one, and the four seasons and over 50 episodes will serve as the right lifespan for the show.

The Good Place Season 4 Will Introduce New Characters

As a result of the experiment done by Michael, the fourth season will likely feature some new add ons in the show. According to speculations, the show will introduce two new humans. Moreover, the two will have some sort of connection with Eleanor and Jason.
Other than that, the main cast members would likely return for the final season of the show. Kristen Bell lead the show as Eleanor Shellstrop, along with Ted Danson as Michael, D’Arcy Carden as Janet, William Jackson Harper as Chidi, Jameela Jamil as Tahani and Manny Jacinto as Jason.

What Will Happen in The Good Place Season 4?

The third season of the show ended with a major cliffhanger. Michael finally struck the deal to recreate the initial experiment that initiated the story. And then, he and the gang set out to build a new neighborhood. However, Sean, the Bad Place demon chose four people to bother the main characters of the show.

One of them was a blogger, who used to spread gossip about Tahani, and worse, Chidi’s ex-girlfriend, Simone. In the end, in an attempt to keep the experiment pure, both Simone and Chidi lost their memory. This came out as a shock for everyone, but mostly for Eleanor, as she is in love with Chidi.
The fourth season will pick up the after-effects of the experiment. Although this will definitely change the show to some other directions. It’ll feature how Eleanor keep up with the fact that she lost Chidi. Also, it’ll focus on the rising love triangle between Janet, Jason, and Derek.
Michael also gave a big hint for the upcoming season. He stated that the fourth season would feature at least one more big surprise.

The Good Place Season 4: Premiere Date

NBC has not revealed the official release date for the fourth season yet. However, the show will return in fall of 2019, as confirmed in a post by the show’s official Twitter handle. According to the schedule, the show is expected to premiere sometime in September 2019.
