The Mandalorian Season 3: Will Bring New Challenges For Din Djarin- Everything You Need To Know

Disney+

The Mandalorian Season 3 will be quite different from its past seasons as it’s shifting its prime focus on new elements and forbidden villains. Before the series launched, it primarily persuaded that the show will follow the bounty hunter’s exploits, Din Djarin. However, soon after the first season, Din discovered Grogu, and the infant turned into the show’s driving force.

Both the seasons focused on Din and Grogu’s relationship that appeared more like father and son. However, they both parted their way in the second season finale as Din accomplished his mission by reuniting Jedi and Grogu. Now that Din is gearing up for the third season, he will have to find some new path to explore. It looks it won’t be that difficult for him as there are plenty of things left for him to explore.

The Mandalorian Season 3: What To Expect From The Next Run?

Battle For The Darksaber

Grogu returned to his place in the last season finale to train while Din headed back on his route. With those undermine emotional climaxes, Din will have to shift his focus to something else, and the chief among those is the reforming of Mandalore and the Darksaber. Before the departure scene, the finale built a strong tension between Din and Bo-Katan. After defeating Moff Gideon, Din became the owner of the Darksaber and the rightful ruler of Mandalore.

However, Bo-Katan has her eyes on Darksaber and wants to take the Darksaber back. But Bo-Katan can’t take the Darksaber from Din due to the tradition. So it will be thrilling to see the dynamic unfolds between Din and Bo-Katan and the battle for power. Further, watching Din leading the efforts to reform Mandalore that he didn’t like much would be the biggest turning point ever.

Would Follow A Time Jump

As per some rumors, Din will make his appearance in The Book of Boba Fett. Well, we know that The Book of Boba Fett will return before The Mandalorian Season 3, and Din’s appearance with Cobb Vanth, Migs Mayfeld, and Greef Karga hints that something will happen there. So it’s more likely that the upcoming season wouldn’t pick from where it left. It also implies that perhaps Din would help Boba Fett to build a new empire. It seems everything is closely connected, just like Marvel but in a different way.

Dead Villain Would Return

Just like Darth Maul, who reappeared after his death, it has opened the door for another main villain to return. If this could happen, Star Wars Rebels’ Grand Inquisitor would play a main antagonist in the upcoming season. Grand was on the mission to destroy Jedi before he gloriously ends his life in Rebels. Now deemed the recent Star Wars comics, it revealed that Darth Vander had preserved Grand’s spirit.

So likewise Maul, Grand would return to avenge, allowing him to travel back to the galaxy once more. He could settle up with Ezra Bridger, who has been heavily teased to return. So, both Ezra and Grand either return in the upcoming season or the spinoff of Ahsoka Tano’s show.

The Mandalorian Season 3: Who Will Return?

Though there’s no official cast announcement surfaced, yet Pedro Pascal will indeed return as Din Djarin. Other cast members have yet to confirm, but the show will return with a vast ensemble. In an interview, Katee Sackhoff teased her return as Bo-Katan to restore Mandalore. We can also expect Carl Weathers as Greef Karga at some point in the next run.

Meanwhile, Giancarlo Esposito seems confident to return as Moff Gideon, “you’ll see more of me,” as he said. He further would turn out as the perfect villain for the next run after defeated by Din. Recently Deadline reported that possibly Sophie Thatcher would return. But let’s wait for the official news. Besides, Gina Carano won’t return as Lucasfilm removed her from the projects. But it’s unclear whether her role, Cara Dune, will be recast or retire from the show.

The Mandalorian Season 3: When Will It Return?

As earlier mentioned, the filming of Mandalorian Season 3 would begin after The Book of Boba Fett wraps up filming, which will return this year. As per the production listing, the third season should have begun filming on April 5. However, the studio stayed mum on this. So we can expect that it would begin later this year, shifting its premiere to 2022.
