After years of wait, Veronica Mars will be back again. Hulu is about to premiere the next installment of the series, Veronica Mars Season 4. The fans of the cult detective drama have been waiting for the show from almost a decade. And now with its come back, they are again filled with excitement and thrill.
The show is a television mystery drama series, created by Rob Thomas. Veronica Mars debuted in September 2004, featuring Kristen Bell as the titular character, a college student and also a private investigator. The show went on for three seasons and had its last run in 2007. And after almost 12 years, the show is making an entirely new comeback on Hulu.
Veronica Mars Season 4: Trailer Out
The first trailer for the fourth season came out in May. The trailer features Veronica making the opening voiceover as, “When your best friend is murdered before your 17th birthday, you don’t develop a keen sense of mercy.” This summed up the entire plot for the fourth season of Veronica Mars. Also, the trailer made sure to engage more and more audience for the fourth season.
The trailer also includes Ronnie, taking care of a would-be mugger with her taser. It also made sure that the town of Neptune is somehow more dangerous than ever. However, with the help of her love interest from the first season, Logan (Jason Dohring), Veronica will uncover the mystery that she is following. Also, Veronica’s Father, Keith Mars has been tasked with finding the culprits behind a bombing attack in a hotel full of spring breakers.
Veronica Mars Season 4: Cast Updates
The trailer also showed the first appearances of new characters who have joined the series. It featured Patton Oswalt as Penn Epner, a pizza delivery guy, and a frequent poster on unsolved murder websites too, as Deadline reports. Oscar winner J.K. Simmons also joined as shady ex-con Clyde Pickett. Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Good Place) will play Nicole, the owner of a club popular among Neptune spring breakers. And last addition, but maybe not the least, Clifton Collins Jr.(Westworld), Izabela Vidovic (The Fosters’), and Dawnn Lewis (A Different World!) will also recur.
Meanwhile, the entire cast will return from the previous seasons. Creator Rob Thomas shared a sneak peek at the revival’s cast from the first table read back in November.
The Upcoming Season Will Be Much Darker
Rob also shared his views about the fourth season, shortly after Hulu first announced the project. He stated, “I will say this: the movie was nostalgic. The Hulu limited series isn’t going to be. Hardcore So-Cal noir. One big case. Eight episodes to tell the story. This is a detective show.”
The series, books, and movie dealt with heavy topics, including sexual assault and suicide. However, the star of the series, Bell confirmed that things would somehow get much darker in the fourth season. She also stated that Season four is not what they did on UPN or the CW, it’s going to be more mysterious and bigger and more cinematic, and definitely a little different.
Veronica Mars Season 4 Release Date
The show is set to release on July 26, 2019, on Hulu. All the eight episodes will premiere on the same day. After almost a decade, the show is ready to have its debut on Hulu.
