Not just the network announced the renewal news, on a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel cunningly mentioned that the show had been picked up for season 3. And to this news, the star Costner didn’t deny.
The audience loved the debut season as well as the current running season of the series. Because of the grand success of the first season, Paramount Network International didn’t even think about checking out the second season ratings and renewed it for the third season. Yellowstone also became Paramount Network’s biggest scripted hit last year.
Yellowstone received appreciation for its picturesque countryside locations and different landscapes. The show sets in countryside Montana near Yellowstone National Park. The plot revolves around a wealthy cattle ranch owner and patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and his family. The show focuses on the ranch border issues between an Indian Reservation, land developers, and Yellowstone National Park.
Lost Star Josh Holloway Is Onboard
The most significant casting update for Yellowstone Season 3 is the add-on of Josh Holloway. The actor is better known for his character James “Sawyer” Ford in Lost. He will play the hedge fund manager Roarke Carter, who is described as a handsome and charming character. The character is said to have ambitious plans for Montana and also will have a season-long arc in the third season.
Speaking about the rest of the cast returning for the third season, it will depend on how the second season ends. Some fans think the show is like Game of Thrones, but with a mild taste.
