In the 9th episode of Blue Period, the viewers saw Yatora, Kuwana, and Hashida arriving at the cram school after clearing the very first exam. The faculty reminded them they would appear in the second exam after five days. Yatora asked Mrs. Ooba if he could use colors not. She gave him the green light to use them since he was done with the first exam. Sheh also explained to Yataro how to identify colors and how he has to pay attention to every individual color. Yatora went to an art store where he met Ryuuji.
She revealed to him that she got rejected by the Japanese Art School. One of Yatora’s friends mentioned that Ryuuji only made an X mark in the exam. It’s shocked Yatora talked to Ryuuji about it. In the ending moments of the episode, Ryuuji asks him if he wants to go drown. Yatora replied to her by saying he was not going to drown as he would keep swimming and stay afloat.
