Fans rejoice when it was announced Food Wars: Shokugeki No Soma Season 3 is coming back in 2017. The next installment of the hit series is expected to be full of action packed cooking battles and fans will see more of mouth watering dishes. It is reported in the third season Soma will return to the Totsuki Culinary Academy to deal with new challenges. In Food Wars: Shokugeki No Soma Season 3 fans will see Soma opening shokugeki with an upperclassman.

Unfortunately, the third season will only have 12 episodes and will start just after Autumn Election arc. Food Wars: Shokugeki No Soma Season 3 will cover the Moon Banquet Festival arc and it has been teased that a new character will be introduced in the final episode as a part of the cliffhanger.
Spoilers for Food Wars: Shokugeki No Soma Season 3
Spoilers reveal that the third season will focus on the centralization of the Totsuki Culinary Academy. In the upcoming season, Soma and his friends at the Polar Star Dormitory will join forces with Erina and will learn more about her past. As they begin to understand her character, Erina will eventually have a soft spot for Soma and his friends.
But soon things will take a bad turn when Etsuya Eizan will make a sudden announcement for the closure of the dormitory. The announcement will lead to a battle in Food Wars: Shokugeki No Soma Season 3 and the battle will be in between Soma and Etsuya. Soma will be protesting against Etsuya’s decision and his battle will be the highlight of the third season.
It has been also reported that in the third season Erina will be facing her own problems when her father, Azami Nakiri, take over her grandfather as the new administrator of the school. Spoilers reveal that Azami will threaten Erina that if doesn’t follow his new rules on cooking, she will lose her position in the academy.

For a short recap, Soma Yukihira came back to the Totsuki Culinary Academy after finishing the Stagiaire training program at the end of the second season.
