Well, it looks like the latter has caused a whole lot of trouble for herself. It happened after the first episode of the new season aired.
It was indeed surprising as Amanda earlier had a reputation for being brutally honest and winning everyone’s hearts for that very reason. But what happened in the first episode? Why are fans upset with one of their favorite cast member, Amanda?
1000 Lb Sisters: Amanda In Trouble For Wanting Another Weight Loss Surgery!
While Tammy and Amy have always been the center of attention for the 1000 Lb Sisters fans, they have also been familiar with their other family members. There are five Slaton siblings in total, and one of them is Amanda Halterman. She has often appeared in the show as a recurring cast member from the very beginning. Everyone admired her.
Amanda would be the only one throwing brutal truth bombs at Tammy Slaton when no other family members did. This is why the former gained a reputation for being quite real and became a fan favorite. But the 1000 Lb Sisters audience doesn’t admire the side cast member anymore. That’s because a shocking revelation in the new episode of the season set them off.
Chris mentioned during his confession about how the remaining sisters, i.e., Misty and Amanda, are also willing to qualify for weight loss surgery. While fans don’t know about the former’s history, they do know the latter already had a bariatric surgery in 2014. So, it didn’t make sense for them to see her go through it again.
Many 1000 Lb Sisters fans criticized this again. They pointed out how getting the surgery won’t instantly make someone slim. Instead, its the consistency to eat healthy and work out that will show results. Viewers said that Amanda’s second surgery won’t work out in the same way the first didn’t. She has not yet responded to this backlash.
1000 Lb Sisters: Amy Also Wanted A Second Weight Loss Surgery
While Amanda Halterman has been gearing up for her second surgery, another member of the Slaton family had wanted the same thing. When Tammy had a successful weight loss surgery in 1000 Lb Sisters Season 3, her younger sister Amy got jealous. In fact, during her regular check-up with Dr. Procter, she also asked if she could get a “re-do” of her weight loss surgery.
Amy had just had her second baby, so the doctor advised her against it and said it could be quite risky. This moment again upset the fans. They wanted to know why the star didn’t want to lose weight manually and rely on another surgery. She had already made things hard for her by getting pregnant not once but twice after her surgery, even after her doctor suggested not to conceive this soon.
