Shawn Finch has become the newest cast member to be a recurring star in the 90 Day Fiance franchise. His journey began with Love In Paradise edition when he travelled to Brazil to be with Alliya. The latter is a trans woman who identified differently before. Well, Shawn is a gay man and fell in love with Alliya’s previous version before her transition. Hence, they have made an interesting storyline.
Many viewers said that while they respect both of them individually, they don’t think they need to be together. After all, they don’t understand how their relationship would work if Shawn is gay and Alliya is exploring her gender identity as a trans woman. Shawn and Alliya appeared on 90 Day Fiance for the first time all the way from Brazil. The former travelled there to meet his long-distance partner. He had fallen in love with Alliya when her identity was different before her transition. Yet, Shawn was willing to give everything a shot. So, that spin-off documented their engagement and also problems in their relationship, especially with their sex life.
While talking to a friend while in the hair salon, Alliya made shocking statements. She said Shawn urged her for an open relationship when they were long-distance as he had “needs.” She didn’t like it when she saw dating apps on his phone. Well, Alliya’s friend told her to have a conversation with Shawn for things to be okay. But it looks like they are still struggling in some departments even after their wedding.
90 Day Fiance: Alliya Cries As Shawn Admits He Went On A Honeymoon Without Her!
Shawn and Alliya tied the knot in the final episodes of 90 Day Fiance Season 11. Well, things didn’t go as planned, as the bride was 2 hours late to her own wedding. The former was bitter about this, but let it go and went through with the wedding. Well, their problems continued to exist even after tying the knot. Alliya had mentioned how they were having trouble in their sex life as it was “non-existent.”
After all, Shawn is a gay man, and he was in love with Alliya before her transition. So it makes sense as to why he wouldn’t want to initiate intimacy due to this. There was a shocking moment in the Tell All. Host Shaun Robinson asked Shawn if he went on a honeymoon without Alliya. Well, he didn’t have to say anything, and his wife’s tears gave away the answer. He arrogantly said the person he fell in love with wasn’t next to him.
It was clear that Shawn was still having trouble accepting Alliya’s identity and missed her former self before the transition. When he was too tired to deal with the confrontation, he left the studio and walked out. Given that the couple used to be in an open relationship, it’s still not clear if Shawn went on the honeymoon on his own or with someone else.
