RadarOnline.com revealed that a man named Patrick Rykwalder had sued Julie, Todd, and their children, Grayson and Savannah. He revealed he was driving on the Tennessee Interstate 65 in his 2020 Dodge Ram on November 12, 2022. Patrick had stopped on the Interstate as the traffic in front of him also stopped. It was around 5:15 pm when Grayson drove a 2020 Ford 5150 pickup truck opposite Patrick.
Patrick said Grayson was driving Todd and Julie’s car with their permission. Then, “suddenly and without warning,” Grayson “slammed” his car into Patrick’s rear-end at high speed. Patrick accused Grayson of being a “distracted driver.” He also accused the teen of “not paying attention to the roadways.” Patrick added that Grayson “failed to act appropriately” and follow the rules. These rules included maintaining a minimum “safe operating distance from other motor vehicles” and not being distracted.
According to Patrick, Grayson was responsible for the accident. He also claims that the accident caused him severe injuries. Patrick is now suing the Chrisley Knows Best stars for $25k to 750k and for punitive damages. He is also suing Savannah, as she is Grayson’s legal guardian. Todd and Julie have denied Patrick’s allegations.
