Todd Chrisley, known for the Chrisley Knows Best show, became ‘Teflon Todd’ behind bars, as his fellow prisoners named him. He was in the lockup for almost 28 months without being able to see Julie because she reported to a different facility. While Savannah visited him often, he always had limited communication with the outside world.
However, it appears that Todd communicated occasionally through phone calls and emails. He could watch television sometimes with others. Once, he stopped himself from watching Savannah on Fox’s The Masked Singer because it caused him a great deal of embarrassment. He knew her singing was unbearable because she couldn’t sing at all. Savannah also admitted that she was terrible at the competition as the Afghan Hound. Why was Todd given a prison moniker? What’s the story behind it?

During a recent episode of Savannah Chrisley’s Unlocked podcast, Todd went on to share his top prison priorities. He wildly said that his sole intention at that time was simply to make others’ lives miserable. Since his fellow prisoners and workers of the facility would make him suffer most of the time, he took several revenge on them.
“I was surrounded by miserable human beings,” Todd said, referencing his time in Pensacola prison. Waking up every day made the former Growing Up Chrisley star realize that he was undergoing harsh treatment. Julie supported him, sharing her ordeal from the past. She told them that she had no air conditioning and no food. Todd agreed and responded that women have to go through worse than men.

Todd Chrisley opened up about his thoughts throughout his 28-month prison sentence. Talking to Savannah on her podcast, he acknowledged he was far from his true self. Somehow, he was lost in the darkness, which led him to believe he was doing a podcast, staying there.
Todd noted that he had too many people around him for many months. He shared that they used to call him Teflon Todd. In his head, he always felt he was a free man despite being controlled by the State rulers. He added, “I did not take up residence there. I was in prison; prison was not in me.”
Todd spent his free time either reading the Bible or praying to Jesus Christ. Additionally, he had some good friends who were always there to help in times of need. The former TLC star had been friends with Rick Singer, as they were in the same facility. The police arrested Singer in 2019 for involvement in the college admissions scandal.
Unfortunately, Todd couldn’t trust Rick anymore because he took Savannah’s name from his filthy mouth. Regardless, Todd maintains that his conviction and trial were both unjust to him and Julie.
