The latter ended up being behind bars as he was found guilty of various severe crimes. But now it seems that Anna had to face backlash again. But this time, it’s because of her father. Recently, Mike Keller’s religious yet racist sermon surfaced on the internet and ignited viewers’ anger. They lost their calm and slammed him for his “sick” and “ignorant” recount of American history. But what did he say?
Counting On: Mike Gave A Racist Religious Sermon On Black Slaves
Counting On star Anna Duggar is again surrounded by controversies these days. This time, the reason isn’t her husband, Josh, but her father, Mike. Recently, a video of the latter’s racial and discriminative speech during a sermon went viral. In a now-deleted YouTube video, the patriarch talked about one of the most crucial topics, slavery! Mike publicly compared the January 6, 2021, attack on the United States Capitol to slavery. Though the community was quick to delete the entire video, many short clips are still surfacing the internet and further igniting fans’ anger.
In one such clip, Mike was featured talking about “Blacks” being “slaves” around “200 years ago.” He further claimed that they never ever protested against “slavery” and never went to “Washington, D.C” as well. Fans were utterly shocked when the patriarch described the working conditions of the Blacks. As per him, Black people got good treatment from “good people on the plantations.”
Mike added how the slave owners built Churches and taught them how to read Bible. Anna from Counting On’s father received backlash for stating that Blacks “humbled themselves” and “They sought God’s face.” Hence, Mike believes that as all the slaves prayed to God, the Almighty sent “White presidents” who made slavery illegal without any protests!

Counting On: Anna’s Father, Mike, Receives Backlash For His Racist Sermon
Counting On star Anna’s father is now facing the fans’ anger. He very proudly gave a sermon on America’s history without any solid proof. He tried to establish that Blacks never revolted, they just prayed, and God heard them and sent white presidents to eradicate the terms of slavery from society. Knowledgeable fans couldn’t believe their eyes and slammed Mike for his baseless claims. Several viewers stated that his speech was getting “worse” with every word.
On the other hand, many fans even asked the authorities to take strict action against Anna’s father. However, it seems that Fairpark Baptist Church also didn’t support Mike’s sermon. Recently, an email from its media manager was shared with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in which he called the patriarch’s words “hurtful.” He admitted that Mike’s speech was a pure “misrepresentation of racial” and “historical issues.” Hence, they also admitted that “racism” and “slavery” are sinful and completely wrong.
