Asan N’Jie’s New Project After Controversial Exit From Emmerdale
Asan N’Jie, known for his role as Ellis Chapman in Emmerdale, has been spotted back in action. But this time, it’s for a movie. The actor has landed a role in ‘Giant,’ a boxing biopic about Prince Naseem Hamed and his coach Brendan Ingle. He’s playing Tom in the movie.
He is joined by the talented Amir El-Masry, who’s stepping into the shoes of the legendary boxer. Additionally, Emmerdale former gets to share the screen with none other than the legendary Pierce Brosnan, who’s playing Brendan. This is huge for Asan – it’s his biggest career move since the ITV soap.
Since leaving Dales, Asan has appeared in many shows, including Bloodlands and Industry, and some movies. In 2019, Asan was fired from Emmerdale after a big fight with Jamie Lomas, who is popular for Hollyoaks as Warren Fox. After the TV Choice Awards at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel in London, the two actors’ argument was caught on camera.
Reports say security had to take Asan away, and he allegedly threatened to ‘kill’ Jamie. After Emmerdale decided to let him go, Asan said sorry in an official statement. He admitted his behavior was ‘unacceptable’ and not like him at all. The soap star apologised to Jamie.
He stated, “‘I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected, especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.” Also, a ‘devastated’ Asan promised to do better in the future.
