Soap fans have known for a while that actor Nicholas Chavez would be taking a leave from General Hospital to accommodate filming for his Netflix project – Monsters. Thus, it came as no surprise when the makers wrote in a “presumed dead” arc for Spencer. Moreover, going down the “body not recovered” route leaves the door wide open for Spencer’s return, when Nicholas resumes filming for GH. But what actually took us by surprise was the fact that Esme actually very much drowned to her death. Leaving us wondering if actress Avery Pohl is out for good.
General Hospital : Avery Pohl’s Name Off The Closing Credits
Trina and Spencer’s Parisian dream vacay turned into a waking nightmare, when Esme showed up on their boat on General Hospital. The enraged mother was truly out for blood. A fight ensued between the trio, which ended up in Spencer taking a plunge into the deep waters with Esme, in a bid to save Trina. Subsequently, both of them were presumed drowned and dead.
Now, we know that Spencer will return to land of living as soon as actor Nicholas Chavez wraps up the filming for his Netflix project. In fact, his name still appears in General Hospital closing credits as under contract. Thus, reaffirming that our prince is not gone forever. However, unfortunately, it is not the same case for Avery Pohl. Following her drowning, her name is yanked off the end credits. Meaning, Esme really has gone to sleep forever with the fishes.
Will Avery Pohl Return To GH?
In a recent media interaction, actress Tabyana Ali too confirmed actress Avery Pohl’s departure when she spoke about their last day of filming together. Thus, asserting that we truly have seen the last of Esme. But does that necessarily have to mean that we have also seen the last of Avery?
Especially, on a soap like General Hospital! After all, it is famous for recasting the same actors in multiple roles. Actor Michael Easton has played as many as four characters on the soap. His current one being – Dr. Hamilton Finn.
So, if General Hospital wants to bring back Avery Pohl to the fold, it shouldn’t be that difficult. Moreover, she is such a fantastic performer that her exit is truly a loss of talent for the soap. Having said that, it also opens the door for bringing her back as a better character.
For Esme had honestly been written into a corner. We for one, would love to see her in a new role. What about you? Tell us in the comments. Meanwhile, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers for more General Hospital spoilers and updates.
