Sonny Corinthos lives a very complicated life in Port Charles on General Hospital. He is a career mobster, which in itself is a huge compilation. Moreover, his personal life over the decades has included many complex relationships. Even at present, his adopted son, Michael, is hellbent on taking him down, and he doesn’t even know it yet. Hence, when Nina became a part of his life, it was almost a given that their relationship won’t be a bed of roses. There were going to be thorns along the way, and Nina knew it.
However, Nina probably wasn’t mentally prepared to have such a massive threat hang over her, as well as her family on General Hospital. Recently, when Sonny was attacked at the warehouse, Nina opened up to Phyllis that she is rethinking her relationship with Sonny. The don made it clear that all his loved ones, including Nina, should keep their distance from him till the threat is eradicated. In a recent chat with Soap Opera Digest, actress Cynthia Watros (Nina) admitted that Nina doesn’t like the idea of staying away from Sonny. Moreover, it hurts her heart, but she understands.
Will Nina And Sonny’s Love Survive The Threat?
Nina feels worried for a plethora of reasons on General Hospital. She is not alone anymore, she now has a newly found daughter, and a granddaughter. Furthermore, there is her extended family including Maxie and James. Nina is scared that they too might get caught in the cross-hairs of Sonny’s mob drama. Nina and Sonny’s current life is too different from their former life. When Nina first met him at Nixon falls, he was Mike to her. He didn’t remember the first thing about his life as don in Port Charles.
However, even after he regained his memory on General Hospital, nothing changed between them. Nina was still just as much in love with him as before. When they returned to Port Charles together, Nina knew about Sonny’s real life. But she chose to turn a blind eye because she loved him so much. But now the reality has become too big and too dangerous to ignore. Moreover, Nina is struggling to decide whether or not she can handle it.
Nina already understands that Carly had more of a grip on Sonny’s choice of work on General Hospital. She had no qualms about it. But Nina still can’t quite come to terms with it. Will her inability to co-exist with the dangers of Sonny’s mob life cost Nina her love life? Will she and Sonny be able to reach a common ground on this one, or will they part ways?
