Ryan Chamberlain casted a dark shadow over the town of Port Charles for a long time on General Hospital. However, his reign of terror recently came to an end when Mac Scorpio shot him dead on Spoon Island. While, many a times characters that die aren’t actually dead, and often seem to come back to life, Ryan as of now, seems quite dead. And while fans would love to see him wander back in to Port Charles, we don’t know if that would happen on the ABC soap. However, Ryan’s portrayer, actor Jon Lindstrom has a few things to say about his character’s death.
The phenomenal General Hospital star, Jon Lindstrom recently spoke to Soap Opera Digest, about Ryan’s end on the lone-standing ABC soap. The Emmy- nominated actor feels that it is not his show. And if the makers feel that one character needs to be taken off the canvas to facilitate another characters’ forward movement, then that has to be done. However, he did cheekily add that they could still bring him back even after 25 years. After all, Ryan was previously assumed dead for 25 long years!
Jon confessed that it was hard for him to say goodbye to his character on General Hospital. He defined it as a “terrific, colorful character.” However, he added that letting go of characters is part of being an actor. Although, it’s important to note that Jon has bid goodbye to Ryan and not General Hospital. He still plays the role of Ryan’s twin brother, Kevin Collins. Of course, far less evil and “colorful” than Ryan. But hey, it’s something! At least we’ll still get to see him!
The General Hospital star stated that he feels wonderful to have shared the screen with some amazing performers. He shared that it was a great experience to do scenes with Maura West and Alley Mills. He feels Maura is a terrific actor. Meanwhile, he called Alley thoroughly “wonderful to work with.” Well, we hope he gets more chances to work with them as Kevin Collins. Until then, with a heavy heart, we bid Ryan Chamberlain goodbye on General Hospital.
