Sister Wives has become one of the most popular shows on TLC. Earlier, it intended to depict how a healthy polygamous family functions. But when the family dynamics changed and feuds intensified, the show started depicting the dark side of plural marriages. As of now, Christine, Janelle, and Meri have parted ways with Kody. The polygamist only has Robyn by his side. It is no secret that many feel Kody is the villain of the series owing to how much viewers dislike his mistreatment of his spouses. However, new speculation suggests that TLC might be the new villain, as they have allegedly stirred the pot to create commotion in the show. But Kody seemingly keeps taking the blame to secure the paycheck.
Sister Wives: Fans Slam TLC For Scripting Storylines, Did Kody Become A Villain On Purpose?
Noted Sister Wives star Kody has always been quite problematic. Since the very beginning, when Robyn joined the Browns, fans could tell he was biased towards her. After this change, his relationship with his other spouse only deteriorated. Because of this, there is a dislike towards Kody, and he gets credited as the “villain” of the show. However, a fan on Reddit made some interesting observations. At first, the plural family lived in Utah and ultimately moved to Las Vegas and then Flagstaff.
When the Sister Wives family was in Las Vegas, Kody had discussed the possibility of all the wives living under the same roof as him. But Janelle, Meri, Christine, and Robyn already lived in separate houses and liked this arrangement. Hence, the user’s suspicions said that TLC might have offered the idea to make the Brown family members move into a single house. So, when that didn’t work out, they may have wanted them to move to Flagstaff to stir the pot and cause a commotion in their storyline. However, there is no confirmation of this. It is just a theory on the internet.
Many Brown kids were disappointed that Kody was suddenly making them move from Vegas to Flagstaff. They didn’t like the idea of starting all over again in a new place with a new school. But many Sister Wives fans now believe TLC is to be blamed for this move. But, they allegedly painted Kody to be the villain, and he went along with it to get the paycheck. In fact, many believe he has kept up with being painted in the bad light as sure as it ensures he gets paid for it.

While many Sister Wives fans feel TLC made the Browns move to Flagstaff, Gwen spoke about this in the past. Apparently, as per Christine’s daughter, it happened because Dayton got admission to a university situated in Flagstaff, Arizona. Hence, Kody decided to move the entire family there for Robyn and her kids’ benefit. As mentioned above, most of the children were unhappy with starting all over again. At the same time, when the episode featuring this news premiered on TV, something strange happened.
Kody made it look like Dayton getting admission in Flagstaff and the family also moving to the same city was a coincidence. But once Gwen made the reveal, fans understood Kody was faking it.
