In the latest episode of Suddenly Amish, the cast members learn to sew menstrual pads. Bille Joe and Esmeralda meet with Sarah in the barn, who is sitting with a sewing machine and some black clothes. Neither of them could believe their ears when Sarah said they would learn to make pads. Bille Joe has to confirm whether Sarah means period pads. Sarah explains that since they are learning to be Amish, they need to know how to make pads the traditional way.

Sarah also explains how the pads are made. She takes 4 layers of terry material and sews them together. It is made of a towel and fabric together.
