Teen Mom: Kayla & Mackenzie Go Way Back
Many fans might not know this, but The Family Reunion isn’t the first time Kayla and Mackenzie Mckee were on the screen. They have been with the Teen Mom franchise for some time now. Kayla Sessler was on Young and Pregnant and Girls’ Night In. Mackenzie is an OG of the MTV show.
But now, both stars are on Family Reunion. Their first meeting in Cartagena was a weird reminiscing of their old feud. It had ended in a weird stalemate. But many fans are wondering how the feud started in the first place. Well, we have an answer for that. It all started with Kayla and her co-stars watching the MTV show OGs on Girls Night In.
As they began watching, Mackenzie McKee appeared on the screen. Kayla blurted out that they would “start with the boring one.” Apparently, Mackenzie got wind of this and didn’t like the label. So, in November 2022, she took to X to tweet about it. She sarcastically tweeted that she didn’t know “who or what young and pregnant” was. Mackenzie continued by saying she heard the show stars were “hatin’.”
Not to be left behind, Kayla slammed back. She called Mackenzie “ma’am” on X, saying that “calling” her “boring isn’t hatin’.” In fact, she even tweeted that Mackenzie should take it as a compliment. The Teen Mom star wasn’t done with her piece. She went on to sarcastically tweet that she “pray(s)” her “storyline” is also “calm” when she is 30.
Kayla wrote she hoped people would call her “boring” as well. That was where the catfight ended. Fans did try to incite Kayla and Mackenzie again, but nothing happened.
Teen Mom: How Are Kayla & Mackenzie Now?
When Kayla arrived in Cartagena, Mackenzie had no idea who she was. But they had an awkward meeting in the hall. Mackenzie decided to just go with the flow and “welcome” Kayla “with open arms.” But she soon recognized who Kayla was.
Mackenzie realized Kayla had called her “boring” once a long while ago. The latter told Maci that she and the other Teen Mom spinoff stars had many things going on in the show. But Mackenzie just slammed back, asking if they were so interesting why the network canceled them.
