And the inevitable has finally happened on The Bold and The Beautiful. Thomas’s dark truth has finally seen the light of the day and Ridge’s blindfold has fallen off! Right before Ridge and Taylor could exchange the wedding vows, the truth bomb exploded. The entire Forrester clan finally found out that Thomas framed Brooke for the CPS call. Post the revelation, Ridge ripped his son and could not be bride a new one and left. He swiftly turned on his heels and went straight to Brooke. With an apology, which we assume he has learned by heart by now, on the soap.
However, the pleasant shock came when Brooke finally stood up for herself on The Bold and The Beautiful. For weeks she had been begging Ridge for an explanation on why he left her. But he couldn’t even dignify Brooke with a response. Instead, he tossed annulment papers her way. And now he is on his knees, groveling to be taken back. But Brooke is not accepting his apologies just yet. She tells him that he is important to her but not as important as her SELF RESPECT. Well, so finally, Brooke has realized that she needs to put her self-respect ahead of her love for Ridge.
The Bold And The Beautiful: Fans Love Brooke Standing Up For Herself, But Take Her Speech With A Grain Of Salt
The Bold and The Beautiful star of the moment, Katherine Kelly Lang, declared on Twitter that she is proud of Brooke. She wrote that she is happy for Brooke and that she needs to be strong. While fans almost unanimously agreed with the fact that it is a proud moment for Brooke finally stand up for herself. However, this did not come without a dash of salt. Fans feel that Brooke left too much unsaid and open to interpretation in her speech. They agreed that it was a great speech, no doubt, but it sounded too much like she would still be waiting for a “reformed and renewed” Ridge to come back to her. As she suggested he take stock of his life and finally decide for once what he wants.
The fan sentiment for wanting Brooke to take a single stance without leeways for Ridge is understandable. Seeing their favorite Brooke getting shattered by Ridge again and again on The Bold and The Beautiful has hurt them too. Moreover, now they want to see Brooke move on in her life with a new partner. Someone who will be by her side and choose her without questions, without doubts. The fact that Brooke hasn’t immediately taken Ridge back, leaves the window open for the makers to give fans what they want!
If The Bold and The Beautiful wants to bring in a new man for Brooke Logan, the time is now! Although Brooke has already declined two suitors in Deacon and Bill, so maybe it’s time that they bring in some entirely new character for Brooke to pair up with. Meanwhile, on the topic of moving on, Katherine Kelly Lang mentioned in an interview that she personally feels that Brooke should remain single for a while and spend time with herself.
So, if Brooke wants to go on a self-discovery journey, the time is right for that too! In fact, it would fit right in with her speech about choosing herself and her self-respect.
