The Young and The Restless recap reveals that Wednesday’s episode of the CBS soap was full of family drama and action. This episode was about celebrations for a few. However, some were still struggling to keep their relationships strong. First, Chance reassures Abby about something while Lily and Billy celebrate Billy’s job.
Next, Sharon has a discussion with Adam and Abby about their issues. Viewers also saw Chance and Devon meeting secretly to discuss the custody battle. The January 17, 2022 episode witnessed Chelsea putting forward demand from Adam. But what was her demand? Keep reading to find out.
The Young And The Restless: Chance Reassures Abby
Starting off Wednesday’s episode was Abby. She was very upset about how Devon has made the whole custody battle about himself. Abby also felt that she would let things get ugly if they must. Abby also said that she would fight for their son.
She asked Chance if he was supportive of her decision. Chance hugged Abby in reassurance. After Abby leaves the room, Chance texts Devon about meeting him somewhere without letting Abby know about it. Chance is trying to fix things without the court battle.
Lily & Billy Celebrating
Lily was on cloud nine after her remote meeting that served as her official CEO. She celebrated it with Billy. She kissed him passionately just to show how wonderful she was feeling. After a while, Lily notices a gift on her office desk for Billy and herself – some flowers and a bottle of scotch for Billy. Lily reads and gets that all of this is from Jill. This was her way of showing gratitude for Billy’s support as well.
With congratulations in order, Devon stops at Lily’s office with a gift. Lily asks him about the custody battle too. Next, At Crimson Lights, As Lily and Billy were still celebrating their first day at Chancellor Industries, Adam comes in and offers to buy them drinks. Billy says that anything Adam has to say should involve Billy only, not Lily. Then Billy and Lily leave.
The Young And The Restless: Sharon’s Discussion With Newmans
Newmans are going through a lot recently, so Sharon tries to become their guiding light. First, Sharon has a conversation with Adam on the patio. Sharon tells Adam that just like Adam loves his son, Victor loves her son too. She told him to keep trusting his father. Sharon hopes that Adam and Victor can survive this. Sharon also talks to Adam about the Billy issue, and she, later on, asks him to drop it. She highlighted that Adam is more like Billy than he’d like to admit.
Furthermore, Sharon will turn her guiding light lantern on Abby. She offers Abby some food and a shoulder to lean on. Abby won’t be in the state to listen to her but she will argue that Chance is not struggling. Abby wants to know why everyone is pretending like Chance cannot handle this situation.
Sharon tries her best to get Abby to talk about her feelings, but Abby doesn’t need a therapist. So instead, Sharon insists that Abby and Chance should reach out to the people who love them and Dominic as well. At the end of their conversation, Sharon says that it would help everyone if they opened up. Abby thanks Sharon and leaves the place to cut the conversation short.
Chance And Devon’s Secret Meeting
Next, Devon gets Chance’s text and heads back to the penthouse to discuss. When Chance shows up at Devon’s house, he asks Devon if Chance didn’t make it back or if he was in a better mental state. Would Devon still take this custody battle to court? Chance wants to know from Devon if they can handle this without a war. Devon assures Chance that he wanted to handle everything calmly too.
Then, Devon asks Chance if he was honestly ready to give Dominic everything without being affected by his past. Before Chance answers, Abby walks into the room and riles up about the meeting behind her back. Regardless, Chance argues that he wanted to talk to Devon “father to father”. Chance also answers Devon’s questions; he says that he’s not sure that he can give the love and care that Dominic needs right now.
The Young And The Restless: Chelsea’s Demand
Meanwhile, At Society, Chelsea finds Chloe, and she tells her about how rude and cold Adam behaved with her. Chelsea also mentions that Adam said they wouldn’t be working together if Chelsea didn’t let all this drama go. After that, Chelsea says that Adam has made it clear that they will stay only co-parents and nothing more.
Chloe tries to get her to see this as a good thing. She thinks that they can focus on making the fashion platform a success now, just in case Adam screws up. Then, Chelsea heads over to Adam’s office and tells him that he has been rude to her and she isn’t interested in making a fool of herself anymore. She asks Adam if he doubts her running Newman Media with Chloe. Adam assures Chelsea that she is free and allowed to achieve her best work without any doubts.
Chelsea will want Newman fashion to be moved to a new workspace, but Adam feels this is extreme. Adam wants them to handle this like adults, but Chelsea insists “This is adult me telling you what I need to keep working at Newman Media. Furthermore, Chelsea thinks that this is a reasonable request that Adam can easily manage, so she’ll stand firm on her ground.
What Else Happened?
Rounding off Wednesday’s episode was Devon; he thinks about holding Dominic just after his birth. He also thinks about how Chance started freaking out about not being able to calm Dominic down, and the conversation where Chance opened up. Devon then gazes at Neil Winter’s framed picture and wishes he were there to talk to him.
Next, at Society, Nate has the feeling that Elena wants to ask MD to fold her under new ownership. Nate also realizes that Elena has got a lot on her plate. Elena loves her work and will remain committed to it. She assures Nate that he won’t feel neglected.
