However, she returned later and explained the reasons behind her absence. Reportedly, Tammy fell for COVId-19 in addition to her weight gain. However, after weeks of hospitalization, she went back home, all safe and sound.

In season 1, we saw Amy and Tammy coming on the show to lose their extra weight. At the beginning, Tammy Slaton weighed 605 pounds while Amy Slaton weighed over 400 pounds. The sisters were keen on having gastric bypass surgery. In fact, Amy had the desire to get pregnant with her new husband, Michael Halterman. But her excess weight posed a major challege. T hereafter, her goal was to lose 100 pounds. On the other hand, Tammy wanted to get healthier in order to lead an independent life.
