Most of the viewers find it interesting to watch lovers from different parts of the world planning a future together in the United States of America. On that note, let us take a look at some of the facts that TLC doesn’t want fans to know at any cost.
1. Participant’s Payments
The contestants spend their valuable time on the show by making appearances. It is natural for the audience to believe that they are paid well. But that’s not the case. As we all know that the immigrant counterparts aren’t paid at all. Not only that, the American partners are also underpaid.
2. Is Everything Real?
Some of the couples on the show have mentioned that TLC made them appear unhappy just to increase viewers count. Not only they make major edits, but the couples also have to give in to do retakes if the producers ask them to. Just like all that glitters is not gold, all that appears on reality Television is not reality. People perceive these shows as unscripted. Even though all the lines the couples speak are not pre-decided, a major portion of the situations seem manipulated to gain popularity.

3. Promos That Were Staged
Most cast members have revealed that some storylines and promos are fake. Alla Fedoruk blabbed on Reddit that her outburst was totally fake and TLC framed it all. They didn’t use the footage because the storyline behind it never got to the cameras.
4. Nicole’s Petition
Every show has some characters that the viewers don’t like. Similarly, in reality shows, there are characters who don’t have many fans. However, their fair share of haters contributes to their popularity. Nicole Nafziger is a classic example of contestants that viewers couldn’t stand on 90 Day Fiance. 5. Seating Position
The knees to the chest position seem weird and uncomfortable. Even the fans have pointed out the same. Anfisa once told the viewers that the producers ask the female cast to sit like this. Maybe they are trying to get the girls to appear prettier in their own strange ways. However, why they opted for such an uncomfortable or bizarre pose is beyond understanding!
6. Cast Members Sueing The Network
Mark and Nikki Shoemaker sued the network as they didn’t approve of how they were portrayed. However, the jury threw off the case as TLC had a contract to protect themselves. Luis Mendez felt that the network took advantage of her by not paying her. The controversy regarding not paying the immigrant is too huge to ignore. But TLC does its best to hide whenever it gets negative limelight.
7. Crimes
Did you know that the cops arrested Angela Deem for drunk driving? Well, Larissa Dos Santos Lima’s domestic violence caught much of the attention, we assume. Jorge Nava’s drug charges aren’t also a new story. This means that the producers of the show were aware of their criminal background. Then what is all about the background check process the network boasts of? Most likely, they thought that it would spice up the ratings if they selected people with a tarnished background.

8. Questionable Incidents
There are unconventional ways in which most of the international couples meet each other. They don’t just bump into each other in the hallway. David Vázquez Zermeño met his future bride at the age of 24. At that time, she was just 15 years old. Even if we neglect the age gap, the impropriety is hard to ignore. Both have to be adults to consider something between a couple as legitimate.
9. The Road To Citizenship
Viewers think all the couples have to do is to get married within 90 days and they will get a PR. But in reality, the road to American citizenship is a complicated one even if a person has a K1 visa.
10. Pregnancy Questions
Aleksandra Strobel expected a series of congratulating comments when she welcomed her baby girl. But the backlash she received was too harsh. Viewers started to question about who the real father was as the baby looked biracial. This proves that not all baby arrivals on the show are joyous.
