‘My 600-lb Life’ Star Coliesa McMillan’s Recovery, Weight Loss Surgery Complications Put Her On Life Support

My 600 Lb Life star Coliesa McMillan is now out of the ICU. She underwent weight-loss surgery and developed some complications. Fortunately, she is recovering now. How did all this happen? Let’s take a look.

My 600 Lb Life: Coliesa Suffers Serious Complications After Weight Loss Surgery

On the March 2020 episode of My 600 Lb Life, Dr. Now performed surgery on Coliesa. But after that, she started to have pain in her stomach. Even though the reality TV star didn’t reach the required weight to be eligible for the surgery, Dr. Nowzaradan did it. She had an intestinal blockage which he thought could be life-threatening.

When she first starred in the show, Coliesa started out with an initial weight of 643 pounds. After she underwent gastric sleeve surgery, the reality TV star dropped 150 pounds. However, when the episode aired, her niece took to social media to reveal that she is on life support. Now, her daughter Hannah has revealed that her mom is recovering.

Even though Coliesa is not in the ICU, she is still at the hospital. However, Hannah revealed that her mother is doing a lot better now. She might not get a discharge easily as she has to undergo therapy first. Her niece stated that Coliesa started hemorrhaging when there was a problem with the stitches after the procedure.

She also had to undergo a medically induced coma and was on a ventilator for two weeks. When she was on life support, her niece urged fans in a chat group to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.

My 600 Lb Life: Is There Another Lawsuit In The Way of The Production Company?

Considering that Coliesa developed a life-threatening condition after her surgery, there is a chance that it could cause trouble for Megalomedia again. It might be more plausible in the case where they fail to cover the related costs or provide the necessary therapy.

If the past is any evidence, Megalomedia is now surrounded by lawsuits. It started with LB Bonner’s suicide. When the reality TV star took his own life, his family blamed it on the reality show. Others followed and filed a lawsuit against the company making claims similar to Bonner’s family.

They have stated that the company failed to cover the medical costs as promised and staged a lot of scenes to add more drama. Now, if they fail to compensate Coliesa, there is a possibility that the company can face another lawsuit.

In the meantime, we pray for Coliesa’s speedy recovery.
