Recalling how he bagged the role, the actor says that before when Home and Family went off the air, the show was reduced to just two days a week. So, Mathison had about three days off. That’s when he decided to text GH EP Frank Valentini. They have known each other for years, and he knows how much Mathison likes GH. So, he reached out to him and said that he had some free time and would love to work with Frank and everyone on GH. Valentini just went on with it, and that’s how everything rolled out from there.
Talking about what his first scene will be like, the actor reveals that viewers will get to hear him and not see. He says that different characters have played the role of Drew Cain previously. So, he is reprising the role. In the scene, viewers won’t get to see. They will just hear him. He will call Sam and tell her that he is in trouble. Sam is incredibly important to Drew. They have a daughter together, and the audience already knows this. So, he will reach out to Sam, believing that he will follow.
