The Young and The Restless recently roped in another handsome face to woo their viewers! The man in question, James Hyde, ignited passion for over a decade on the supernatural daily soap Passions! And now he is all set to enter Geona city to set the temperatures soaring! You must have seen the star debuting on Y&R on October 21, 2022. The handsome actor recently spoke to Tvinsider.com about his upcoming stint on the coveted daily soap. Here are some excerpts for you from the chat!
On being asked how he landed the role of Jeremy on The Young and The Restless, James credited it to manifestation! “This is partially manifestation. I haven’t been on a soap set since Passions ended. I remember thinking that if I ever came back to daytime, I wanted it to be with Y&R.” James pointed that Y&R’s casting associate Greg Salmon has always kept him in mind.
“My agent reached out to the show a few times and Greg would say, “That’s not right for him, but we’re keeping him in mind for something else.” I went in for the role of Tucker McCall.” James admitted, “I didn’t get it, of course, but Greg sent me an email telling me I’d done a nice job and maybe they could incorporate me into the show in another role.”
However, things changed for him quickly! A week later, he got a call to play the role of Jeremy on The Young and The Restless. “I shot my first episode at the end of September and I worked with Susan. It felt so great to be back in this genre.” The talented actor exuded. Life has come full circle for James by starting his journey with soaps and now returning to soaps.
On being asked what else he has been up to, James had a good laugh about his recent movie stint. “I worked on a Lifetime movie called Trapped by My Sugar Daddy that Lindsay Hartley, ex-Therese Lopez-Fitzgerald of Passions directed”. However, the movie has now been retitled Prisoner of Love. Talking about his character in the movie, he said, “I played a very bad character on that. It was totally enjoyable.”

The Young and The Restless fans, please note, James Hyde will also be guest-starring on Station 19, just one day ahead of his Y&R debut. So don’t forget to tune in to it on October 20, 2022. Talking about his role on Station 19, he said, “I play a lawyer whose son has an accident. My character comes in and tries to take over. He has a bit of a disagreement with the rescue personnel who are trying to help.
“Moreover, talking about his role in The Young and The Restless, James said, “My first day was amazing.” Talking about his co-star, he said, “Susan is so open and giving and helpful.” “Our characters first met when she was living in Los Angeles.” James added.
We are so excited to see James back on the screen featuring in the soap he has always dreamt of being in!
