Well, it remained the focal point of the first season, and it seems that it would continue to feature in the following season as well. But something will indeed change this time which would amaze its fans. As the comedy-drama gearing up to return soon on the streamer, the creator dropped some hints about the second season.
Russian Doll aired back in 2019 and soon received four Primetime Emmy nominations in 2020 for Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Comedy Series. It explored the world of Nadia, who accidentally got caught up in a time loop. She repeatedly dies on the party night, where she appeared as the guest of honor. However, while trying to figure out her situation, Nadia meets a man who is also stuck in the same loop.
Netflix renewed Russian Doll Season 2 shortly after a couple of months of its debut. The reports confirmed that the second season would consist of eight episodes. Meanwhile, Natasha teased that the second season would be weirder as her character would delve into more chaos. Further, she revealed that they had pitched three seasons. So, the second season is a good sign of continuing the saga.
Russian Doll Season 2: Has It Resumed Filming For The Next Season?
On Tuesday, Natasha was spotted filming in New York City. Well, it’s pretty amazing to see her back on the streets of New York after a long break. In the image, it seems she tried to avoid the accident as she accidentally jumped in front of the taxi. In the photo, she’s waving her arms to stop the cab. Although filming for the second season was expected to begin last year. But, the current health crisis had pushed the plans further.
Russian Doll Season 2: Who Will Be In The Cast?
Recently, news broke that Schitt’s Creek actress Annie Murphy has joined the second season of the Netflix drama. However, her role hasn’t been disclosed yet. Besides, House Of Cards star Carolyn Michelle Smith has also joined the second run in a recurring role. Above all, Natasha Lyonne will return as Nadia Vulvokov with Charlie Barnett as Alan Zaveri. Other casts include Greta Lee as Maxine and Yul Vazquez as John Reyes.
The news recently came that the second season would focus on the male love interest as well. Last year, Daniel Richtman, an entertainment scooper, shared that a new character would introduce. The male character is charming, but he turns out to be a con artist. Further, he defined the male role like a young Benicio Del Toro. Though they haven’t finalized, who will play that role yet, Natasha has listed two names- Oscar Issac or Andre Holland for the role.

The last season ended up with both Natasha and Alan heading their separate ways. Now it looks like they are in a parallel universe, but they might encounter each other when the time comes.
