'The OA Season 3' Or Movie: Fans Are Still Trying, Is There Any Hope?

Fans have literally done everything they could to save The OA Season 3. Netflix canceled the series after its first two seasons. As per the showrunners, Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij, the sci-fi show was planned to be a five-season project. Hence, they left fans with a crazy cliffhanger in the Season 2 finale. The cancellation infuriates thousand of viewers due to the incomplete ending.
Netflix Original series debuted to influence a large number of people. The OA may have had a low viewership count, but it sure had an incredibly passionate fanbase. Aside from being a fan-favorite, the show is also highly appreciated by critics from around the globe. Both the initial installment received much recognition from worldwide Netflix subscribers.

Starring show creator Brit Marling in the lead, the story follows her on a weird journey. Brit plays the role of a young blind woman returning home seven years after her disappearance. Surprisingly, on reappearance, her eyesight is restored. She now calls herself The OA and is devoted to rescue others who’ve disappeared in another dimension as well.

Untimely Cancellation Of The OA Season 3

None of us could ever expect that Netflix would slit a series as well-performing as The OA. The streaming giant is known for picking up dropped shows that are worthy for a second chance. Some of the greatest examples of the same have to be Lucifer and Designated Survivor. However, this year, the streamer has unnecessarily canceled decent projects such as Santa Clarita Diet and Chambers.
Besides slitting the series, Netflix has left the fans with no particular reason for the same. The streamer did not justify why The OA Season 3 can never make it to the screens.

Fans Are Full Of Rage!!

The untimely and unnecessary cancellation has infuriated thousands of fans. All of Netflix’s recent posts are full of #SavetheOA and #RenewtheOA comments. Fans are frustrated with the streamer renewing and promoting other shows after canceling one of their favorite ones.

Some of the fans have attempted to begin a petition to save The OA Season 3 from being dropped. As of now, more than 80,000 people have signed the petition. On the other hand, one of the members of its fanbase goes on hunger strike to protest. Whereas a few of them have canceled their Netflix subscriptions to show rage. Moreover, a fan went too far and placed a banner with #SavetheOA at Times Square.

Is There Any Hope For Season 3 Or A Wrap Up Movie?

Several of the popular shows dropped from their networks are now being picked up by other platforms. Fans have previously saved a bunch of series with online petitions and social media campaigns. As of now, Netflix is not ready to renew The OA Season 3. Supporters later requested for a wrap-up movie to provide the story with a proper ending. However, the steamer disagrees with giving any thought to the idea.

The OA Season 3 can only survive if another platform decides to pick it up. As of now, the chances seem to be meager. However, we hope that the series gets a second opportunity to atleast complete the storyline. Show creator Brit Marling and actor Jason Issacs have both shared their grieves with the fans.
