1. Memphis Smith Went Bankrupt After Appearance On Before The 90 Days

Michigan beauty Memphis Smith last appeared on 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days with her Tunisian husband, Hamza. The couple met online on an international dating app and eight months later met each other face-to-face on Season 5 of this TLC show. After facing several issues, the couple tied the knot in Africa and soon announced the arrival of their first baby together. Memphis and Hamza’s split rumors soon flooded, but nothing was confirmed until November 2022, when they announced their divorce. Merely a month after this reveal, Smith filed for bankruptcy.

Her voluntary bankruptcy petition revealed that Smith does not have any property that can be used as an asset. Additionally, Chapter 7 of her bankruptcy statement also stated that she doesn’t has a monthly income. However, this was later changed to around $4282 per month in a revised statement. Regarding debts and liabilities, the total amount that Smith owes is near $225.44K, while her monthly expenses are $4,640.

2. 90 Day Fiance Star Daniele Gates Filed For Bankruptcy

Daniele Gates and her partner Yohan Geronimo first appeared in Love In Paradise: The Caribbean season 2, followed by staring in The Other Way. Danielle is a history teacher and an owner of a holistic yoga center in New York but was determined to move to the Dominican Republic. She claimed that living in New York is expensive, and she chooses to live by the beach. Moreover, Daniele was not concerned about financial stability and was also willing to lose an additional $15K in her pension. She would only receive this if she stayed in the U.S. for one more year.

The infamous 90 Day Fiance star Daniele Gates filed for bankruptcy in 2022 when her liabilities added up to over $224.5K. Back then, she earned $1.3K less than her spending and had nearly $63.3K in her student loan debt. Additionally, she owed nearly $80K to EZ Pass and $4.6K for her parking tickets and other penalties.

3. Big Ed Brown Filed Bankruptcy Not Just Once But Twice!

Big Ed Brown has also filed for bankruptcy twice, in 2004 and 2017. The latter was almost two years before he joined season 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days. As per the 2004 filing, Big Ed had a debt of $133.8K that covered credit card bills, medical expenses, car payments, student loans, and others. This claim was dropped when Brown surrendered his Dodge Neon in the same year.

Ed filed for another bankruptcy in 2017 after owing nearly $185K. This included credit card debt, student loans, and debt on car payments for both his vehicles. These included a BMW and Jeep Wrangler.

4. Tarik Myers Filed For Bankruptcy Multiple Times Before & After 90 Day Fiance

Tarik Myers is yet another 90 Day Fiance celebrity who filed for bankruptcy in February 2021 for the third time. He faced trouble paying his bills. But he ultimately saved his home from going into foreclosure as he had a fixed income. Earlier, he had also filed for bankruptcy in 2008 and 2009 and has lately reported $475K in liabilities in the year 2021. This included $124K from unpaid state and federal taxes.

Tarik disclosed that he earns approximately $1.4K per month from payments related to his TV show. Additionally, he reported earning just over $17K from Sharp Entertainment, which may be attributed to his involvement in the Before the 90 Days spin-off.

5. Millionaire Michael Jessen Went Bankrupt After A Big Loss

90 Day Fiance star Michael Jessen flaunted his richness on the show by exhibiting about her wine career and over-the-top cars. This reality TV personality recently faced a lot of financial issues. As he stopped making payments for the $1,195K house he bought in 2019.

Michael had a foreclosure complaint filed against him by the mortgage lender, and it remained unresolved in court for 15 months. 90 Day Fiance star Ariela Weinberg’s parents, Fred and Janice, had to file for bankruptcy twice. The couple Ariela and Biniyam first starred in Season 2 of The Other Way and then Season 9. Her parents handled the important payments for the couple’s new apartment in America when they returned to the U.S. in Season 9. These payments included the security deposit, down payment, and first month’s rent. Her parents anticipated Ariela and Biniyam make their payments in the future.

Shortly after this, it was revealed that Fred and Janice filed for bankruptcy in December 2012. The total liabilities they successfully claimed was $1,706,562, comprising a tax debt of $300K and several other credit card and mortgage debts.
