After the crimes of Samuel Bateman came into the limelight for having more than 20 wives, most of them minors, fans were worried. Now a theory suggests that he purposefully ended his marriage with most of his wives to avoid going to jail. Keep reading for more details.

Sister Wives: Kody Brown Strategically Ended Three Of His Marriages To Avoid Getting Arrested For Practicing Polygamy In Arizona?

Kody Brown has been in a polygamous marriage for more than half of his life. However, things didn’t end well for him. That’s because he announced in the recent Tell All that he is no longer with Janelle and Meri after Christine left him. It turns out that he had pulled the plug on his marriage with the former two ladies earlier in the past. However, they all chose to reveal it during the Tell All special Not long ago, a resident of Arizona, Samuel Bateman, faced an arrest. That’s because the man had more than 20 wives, most of whom were minor girls. He was also responsible for child abuse and sex trafficking. This case came into the limelight and revealed that Arizona has strict laws about polygamous marriages.

So fans began to wonder if Kody could face an arrest, too, for breaking the laws. Back then, he had not made his separation from Meri and Janelle public. Hence, a theory suggests that the celebrity polygamist did so to avoid the chances of also serving jail time for breaking laws. In fact, Arizona’s constitution states that Article 20 Section 2 has prohibited plural marriages and “co-habitation”. Fans believe that Kody made his split from his spouses public at the right time. Now, Robyn Brown remains his only wife, as per the special episodes. However, none of the castmates have given confirmation on this possibility. It is still just a theory going around on the internet.

Sister Wives: TLC Urged Kody To Break Off His Marriages For Drama?

While one side of the Sister Wives fanbase believes Kody Brown ended things with most of his wives to avoid trouble with the law, another side was speculating something different. It turns out that many feel that the TV network urged the head of the Brown family to break off his marriage. Christine’s separation storyline worked well and got them a lot of views. So, many believe the same would happen if Janelle and Meri go down the same path as the former third wife. The audience had seen the problems Kody, Janelle, and Meri had faced for many seasons in their marriage.

Kody had opened up about reconciling things with Meri in the Tell All. Alas, they weren’t able to work it out. While the first wife was interested and still open to reconciliation, she doubted the patriarch would want to. As far as Janelle is concerned, she blatantly stated that she had separated from Kody for months. However, it was a part of Tell All Part 1’s promo, and they didn’t go into detail about this. Hence, the other two parts of the special would shed light on what went wrong with Kody and Janelle. Until then, TV Season & Spoilers shall provide you with all the latest Sister Wives updates.
