The Bold And Beautiful regular viewers know that Tanner Novlan, the actor who played the character of John “Finn” Finnegan, has been killed on the CBS soap. In a recent interview, Tanner told Soap Opera Digest that the executive producer, Bradley Bell called him personally about where Finn’s storyline was going. Tanner admitted that he was pretty surprised. But, he also understood that this is what daytime drama soaps are about. Novlan also mentioned how anything could happen at any time, which keeps the people engaged with the show.
Soap Opera Digest also reported that Tanner wasn’t the only one who didn’t see Finn’s fate coming. Moreover, his on-screen wife, Jacqueline Woods, was also super surprised. Steffy and Finn are a fan favorite couple, so Jacqueline was also speechless about Finn’s character being killed off. But, Tanner realized that if this news made Woods speechless, it would shock the audience too, which is the whole point of soap operas.

When SOD asked Tanner about how he handled the end of his character, he quoted his wife, Kayla Ewell. He said that she gave him some advice since she’d been through a soap exit herself. Ewell told her husband that Finn’s role would live on through the days and months. She also told him that the surprises keep coming in soaps, and this one will definitely get a bunch of buzz.
Tanner also took the opportunity to describe his death scene, which he played on The Bold And The Beautiful. In the beginning, Novlan thought it would be easy to just “lay there the whole time, but it was very uncomfortable.” He furthermore added that he was lying in a pool of blood for six hours, and he had to take a big breath before each take. Tanner called the death scene not so much fun as he thought it to be.
Towards the end of the interview, the actor thanked his whole team of the show. “It was such an honor to be so well-received from the fans and critics,” he expressed. He also feels honored for all the love and blessings that he received during the whole process. Viewers know that we will Finn a lot in the upcoming weeks on the CBS soap.
