Long before actress Allison Lanier draped the garb of Summer Newman on The Young and The Restless, America’s sweetheart, Hunter King, portrayed her. Eventually, Hunter moved on from the role of Nick Newman’s daughter and found newer avenues at Hallmark Channel. Even though our eyes have become set on seeing Allison as Summer, there is still a possibility that Hunter King might return to The Young and The Restless. The talented actress herself agrees that she has not closed the door on her return to the famed CBS soap.
In a quick chat with Soaps She Knows, The Young and The Restless alum admitted that she still receives messages from her fans asking if she will return. She is not averse to the idea of returning home to Y&R. Allison affirms that such things happen, “people do come and go”, and she says, “and paths do cross”. However, as of now, she is content with what she is doing outside of the world of The Young and The Restless. Allison opened up about her new contract with Hallmark and called it a dream come true.
Hunter King Gushes About Her Time On The Young And The Restless
Apart from expressing her delight at her ongoing association with the Hallmark Channel, Allison also reminisced about her time on The Young and The Restless. She stated that she feels immensely lucky to have had all those years on the numero uno CBS soap. But for the time being, that chapter remains closed. However, she did not shy away from teasing her fans with a “who knows what’s going to happen”. Was that just a comment in passing, or was it a hint? Could Hunter King return to The Young and The Restless?
Currently, there is no news of actress Allison Lanier( current Summer Newman) leaving the soap. Besides, the fans seem happy with her portrayal of Summer. She is an extremely talented actress, and unless something changes drastically, we don’t see her going anywhere. However, that doesn’t mean Hunter can’t return! Many times we have seen actors returning as completely new character that has nothing to do with their former one. So don’t write off the chances of Hunter’s return to The Young and The Restless just yet!
We do enjoy watching Allison Lanier as Summer on The Young and The Restless, and her chemistry with Michael Mealor (Kyle) is undeniable! But we also still miss seeing Hunter King on the soap.
