The Young And The Restless: Nikki’s Sobriety Shattered!
The preview sets the stage for an emotionally charged storyline that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. As the week begin Nikki won’t be able to resist the urge for alcohol. A worried Nikki, who will find herself stuck by Claire in the bedroom of her aunt Jordan’s house, will be confused about why her assistant is treating her badly.
By this point it is clear that Claire holds a major grudge against Nikki. Of course, Claire has worked hard to come up with a plan for payback. Claire spent a lot of time getting deep into Nikki’s world, making her plan better. She tried really hard to make Nikki trust her, all while getting ready to betray that trust at just the right time.
Things will take a more dire turn when Nikki, recovering alcoholic, realizes that she is in the throes of a drunken stupor because she has been poisoned with liquor. The choice to mess with Nikki’s efforts to stay sober shows that someone not only did their research but that this attack on Nikki is very personal.
Even though The Young and the Restless audience might find it interesting to see Nikki drunk, thanks to Melody Thomas Scott’s great acting, this part of the story will show Nikki in a very difficult situation. Because Nikki will have been sober for a long time, the alcohol in her system will affect her strongly. She will try bravely to resist the bottle of vodka that somebody deliberately left in the bedroom with her.
However, it will become obvious that the urge to drink will take hold, and her determination will weaken. Nikki will desperately grab the bottle, twist off the top, and be ready to pour the contents into a wastebasket. However she won’t be able to bring herself to do it. Her craving will be too powerful, and she will gulp from the bottle as if it were water.
After the bottle falls from her hands and shatters, Nikki will sink down onto the bed, burying her head in a pillow, sobbing. In a very fragile state, Nikki will try to figure out why Claire is doing this to her, forcing her off the wagon. As she’s pushed over the edge, Nikki will experiencing shame and despair.
Meanwhile, Claire will show up at Newman Media. Y&R preview suggest that Claire will will return to Genoa City to activate the next phase of her revenge plot. We will soon find out that Nikki might not be their only target in the Newman family. Additionally, Claire will also enjoy leaving Nikki alone to suffer in silence.
