The Young And The Restless has been entertaining us for more than five decades now. The show began in 1973, and it used to had stories involving Brooks and Foster families. But, slowly and steadily, The Abbott and Newman families became the center of attention, along with Winters and Chancellors being in the limelight every once in a while.
Y&R viewers enjoy The Abbott family dealing and enjoying all the drama. In fact, it has been one of the most powerful families in Genoa City. So, let’s take a look at what their family tree looks like. Here’s everything about it.
The Young And The Restless: First And Second Generation Of Abbotts
The First Generation of The Abbott family started with Robert Abbott; he was the father of John and Ivan Abbott. As we move forward, the second generation of the Abbott clan took over, and it had Ivan, John Abbott, and his wife, Gloria Abbott Bardwell. And the third generation is the one that is in play right now in the soap opera.
John Abbott led the Genoa City for the Abbott clan for years, and he died in 2006. John had three children with his first wife, Dina: Jack Abbott, Ashley Abbott, and Traci Abbott. Sadly, Dina left the family to travel the world and was not a part of their lives that much. Dina was later diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and she died in 2020.
The Young And The Restless: Third Generation Of Abbotts
The third generation of the Abbott clan is led by the Abbott Patriarch Jack Abbott, along with her two sisters and a brother. The two sisters being Ashley and Traci, and the brother is Billy Abbott.
Jack Abbott
The Young And The Restless viewers recognize this man very well. Terry Lester initially played Jack Abbott’s character from 1981 to 1989. After that, Peter Bergman took over the role of Jack, and we still see him in 2022 on the CBS soap. Jack has had two kids on the show: Keemo and Kyle.
Jack had Keemo with a lady in Vietnam he was in a relationship with. And Kyle is the son of Diane Jenkins and Jack. He has been in touch with Kyle more than Keemo. Jack barely ever mentioned Keemo, but things changed a bit recently on the show.
Long-time viewers know Kyle Abbott, he is one of the favorite characters. He moved to Italy to be with his wife, Summer. As for Keemo, he has a daughter who recently met with his grandfather and has arrived in Genoa City to be with her extended family.
Ashley Abbott
Ashley Abbott was not really John’s daughter. She knew that her mother was in a relationship with a man named Brent Davis, which resulted in Ashley’s birth. Ashley made sure that her father never knew her bio-dad, and it remained so. Many of you might not know that Ashley worked for John’s cosmetics company, known as Jabot, for many years. But, now Ashley has her own company, and she has only one child with Victor Newman- Abby Newman. Abby was not raised by Victor but by Ashley’s husband, Brad Carlton.
As for Abby, she is a beautiful lady and is married to Chance Chancellor. Abby has a kid named Dominic Abbott Winters Newman Chancellor. As of now, Abby has been supporting her husband through therapy and taking care of her precious baby boy.
Traci Abbott
Traci Abbott is known to be the sweetest person in the Abbott clan. As per reports, she had to go through self-doubt while in her teenage years. Traci was married to Brad Carlton and had a daughter named Colleen. After a while, Brad and Ashley somehow got together, which also created issues between the Abbott sisters.
Anyhow, Traci took care of Colleen on her own, but her daughter died after some time. Now, Traci is a single woman who is trying to make her way into romance novels. She spends more time in New York with her publisher, but the Young And The Restless viewers see her every once in a while when her family needs her. Traci is considered to be the sweetest and kindest soul of the Abbott family.
Billy Abbott
Billy is the son of John’s young wife, Jill. John and Jill didn’t have the best relationship, especially after Jill slept with Jack. But Jill and John did have a kid together, Billy Abbott. He is a gambler and generally a mess who always struggles to find success in his business. Billy gave the Abbott family another child named Delia, but she died in a hit-and-run case.
After some time, Billy has two more children named Katie and Johnny. Katie is Victoria’s daughter, and as for Johnny, he is Billy and Chelsea’s son. But, Victoria adopted Johnny and is raising him as one of her own. As for now, Billy is in a relationship with Lily Winters, and the couple is going through some rough patches.
This was all about the third generation of the Abbott clan, and after this, the fourth generation will be in action. Although the fourth gen’s few characters are already a part of the show right now. Abby Newman, Kyle Abbott, Johnny, and Katie Abbott. This generation will be followed by Harrison Locke, Allie Nguyen, and Dominic Newman.
